In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month this October, House of Ruth will be hosting several events to honor survivors, remember lives lost, and strengthen community awareness around this critical issue.
We would be truly grateful if your Chamber would consider sharing the following events with your members through your newsletter or other communication channels:
Moveable Feast - Saturday, October 4, 2025, 5:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. The evening begins with a cocktail reception at the Lassie House, where guests will have the opportunity to enjoy light refreshments, live music, and mingle with like minded community members who are passionate about helping survivors of domestic violence. Following the cocktail hour, guests will depart to their assigned homes where they will enjoy a decadent dinner prepared by one of our gracious hosts.
Pomona Peace Walk – Thursday, October 9, 2025, 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Beginning at Pomona Valley Hospital and concluding at House of Ruth’s Pomona Outreach Office, the walk will be followed by food, music, resource tables, and speakers. Shuttles will run from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. between the Outreach Office and hospital.
Candlelight Vigil – Thursday, October 16, 2025, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
This year’s vigil, themed “Rising Together: An Evening for Peace, Healing, and Justice,” will honor lives lost to domestic violence and foster healing among survivors and supporters through speakers, survivor stories, and grounding workshops.
Survivor Panel – Tuesday, October 28, 2025, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Hosted at the University of La Verne’s Ludwick Sacred Center, “Survivor Voices: Healing in Action” will feature a panel discussion, audience Q&A, and light refreshments.
Your support in helping us spread the word would make a meaningful impact, ensuring more community members can come together in solidarity and awareness.
