The Rotary Club of San Dimas is pleased to welcome Dr. Sudesh Kannan, PhD, as our guest speaker on March 5, 2025, at 12:00 PM via Zoom. Dr. Kannan, a renowned expert in stress management and meditation, will present an empowering session titled "Make Stress Your Friend", where he will share how you can transform stress into a tool for personal growth and well-being.
In this engaging presentation, Dr. K asks each participant to reflect on three key questions:
Why did you come today?
What is great in your life?
What is missing in your life?
Through this introspection, Dr. Kannan will guide us on how 15 minutes of daily meditation can help alleviate anxiety, stress, and fatigue. Drawing on recent scientific studies, he will demonstrate how meditation can positively rewire your brain to make you calmer, more relaxed, and optimistic. He will show how you can turn worry upside down and use your imagination to energize and relax you. Additionally, attendees will learn how to create personalized stress-reduction routines based on their individual strengths and life schedules.
With over 20 years of experience in meditation and mindfulness, Dr. Kannan has successfully trained individuals since 2007 to achieve happiness using a simple three-step process that cultivates joy, peace, and energy. He has authored more than 25 publications and co-authored the book "How to Beat the Heart Disease Epidemic among South Asians." Outside of his professional work, Dr. K is an avid runner and long-distance cyclist, having completed several marathons and bike rides.
