TreePeople: Building Greener, Healthier Communities
The Rotary Club of San Dimas welcomes Nour Rajha of TreePeople as our featured speaker on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at 12:00 noon via Zoom. TreePeople is a Southern California nonprofit organization dedicated to creating greener, healthier and more climate-resilient communities.
Nour is a former Interact member and recipient of a Rotary 4-Way Test Speech Contest scholarship while attending University Preparatory High School in Victorville, California. Her commitment to community service and environmental stewardship led her to the California Conservation Corps, where she served nearly two years at the Pomona Center. During her service, she supported grant programs and wildfire relief efforts, eventually advancing to the position of crew leader.
Currently an environmental science student, Nour is pursuing her interests in forestry, wildlife biology and ecology. She serves as TreePeople's Community Forestry Coordinator in the San Gabriel Valley, connecting with local communities to promote urban tree canopy, environmental education and sustainable practices. Her background in Rotary youth programs, conservation service and environmental science brings a unique perspective to the relationship between community involvement and environmental responsibility.
TreePeople works throughout Southern California to expand urban forests, restore natural landscapes and improve environmental conditions in communities. Its programs include neighborhood tree planting and care, wildfire recovery, native habitat restoration, school and urban greening, and environmental education. The organization engages thousands of volunteers and students each year, helping communities address extreme heat, drought, water conservation and other environmental challenges.
Beyond community forestry, TreePeople manages more than 3,000 acres of protected land in the Santa Monica Mountains and conducts research, advocacy and watershed management programs. Through partnerships with residents, schools and local organizations, TreePeople demonstrates how practical, nature-based solutions can improve neighborhoods and protect natural resources for future generations.
During her Rotary presentation, Nour will introduce TreePeople's mission and its work in the San Gabriel Valley. She will be joined by teammates Percy and Francisco, who will provide additional perspectives and answer questions about the organization's programs.
